Greensboro, NC -- Four children have been hit walking to school buses in the past six weeks and Melissa Drozdoski has had enough.

The News 2 viewer is behind a petition on change.org to urge lawmakers to change our current laws.

Her plea to the governor and legislature says "please pass the NC school bus STOP act now."

She's wants stop arms on the front and rear of all new buses, fines ranging from $500 to $1,000 and an automatic six-month license suspension.

Only three people have signed her petition so far.

We asked you on Facebook for your suggestions to curb this problem.

Chris Vaden said "have some officers escort each bus with blue lights and one behind the bus, I bet they will stop then."

Fredia Wright said "children should not have to cross the street to get on the bus, this will solve that issue."

Randy Wallin suggested "add cameras to buses on exterior and get plate numbers if they pass illegally."

Many viewers said on Facebook they see this happen all the time. News 2 wants you to do something about it.

As you're stopped, If you see someone passing a stopped bus take a picture.
