Greensboro, NC -- Greensboro Police responded to an accident on South Holden Rd., near West Florida Street, that shut down two lanes of the road in the area for several hours.
According to Greensboro Police, Robert Lester Robertson was riding his scooter when he was struck by another vehicle. That driver left the scene.
People in the area at the time of the accident described the car that hit Robertson as a small burgundy Toyota Corolla or Dodge Neon.
Police say that Robertson was taken to the hospital, with serious injuries.
As of 9 o'clock Saturday night, all lanes on South Holden Road were reopened to traffic.
