Woman Tried To Stop Burlington Family Dollar Robbery Suspects

Burlington, NC - Three men robbed the Family Dollar on E. Webb Ave. Sunday night, just before 7:30 pm.

Police said a woman leaving the store tried to hold the front door closed to prevent the men from leaving, but she was hit on her head several times with a handgun. She was not seriously injured and refused medical treatment.

According to police, the men drove away in a mid- to late-90's gold Honda Accord station wagon towards Flanner St. As they drove away another witness saw the men leaving Family Dollar and followed them on Stone St. towards Maple Ave. One of the robbers started firing at the person following them, causing the driver to pull over. 

The suspects were last seen driving on Flanner St. toward Moorhead St. Witnesses told police the men wore hooded sweatshirts and covered their faces with cloth.
