Raleigh, NC-- Monday, North Carolina Insurance Commissioner Wayne Goodwin announce the arrest of an insurance agent in the Triad.

Corinne Elizabeth Sylvester, 30, of Thomasville is charged with Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretense, Goodwin said.

Sylvester was arrested after the Department of Insurance criminal investigators allege that she received approximately $974.77 in unearned commissions. She got the money by submitting fraudulent and unsanctioned insurance applications in June 2010 while working as an insurance agent for AFLAC Insurance Company, investigators said.

Sylvester is accused of submitting applications on behalf of family members without their knowledge.

Sylvester was arrested on January 10 with assistance from the Davidson County Sheriff's Office and released on a $500 secured bond.
