North Wilkesboro, NC -- Some good news greeted people today in one Wilkes County town after an announcement about jobs coming.
According to a news release, JELD-WEN, Inc. and the Wilkes Economic Development Corporation announced that JELD-WEN will open a composite doorskin manufacturing operation in North Wilkesboro. The expansion will create about 49 new jobs and generate a capital investment of $4.8 million in production equipment and facility improvements at JELD-WEN's building at 205 Lane's Drive in North Wilkesboro.
The company, which is planning to establish a North American headquarters in Charlotte, expects to begin the new operation during the first quarter of 2013. Job seekers can apply in person at the North Wilkesboro facility.
