Bessemer City, NC -- A school bus driver in Gaston County has been charged with having sex with two students.
Police have charged the students with using Facebook to try to extort $60 from the woman to keep quiet about the sex.
Thirty-three-year-old Kwanda Carpenter is charged with sexual activity with a student by school personnel other than a teacher.
The 17-year-old male students have been charged with blackmail.
Investigators say Carpenter is a school bus driver at Bessemer City High School and had sex with the students last year in her car. Gaston County police say they learned of the incident when Carpenter reported the Facebook message.
School spokeswoman Bonnie Reidy says Carpenter has been suspended while the school system investigates the allegations.
WSOC-TV reports that she denied having sex with the teens.
