Philadelphia, PA (Sports Network) - Led by a career-high 22 points from
Matthew Wright the St. Bonaventure Bonnies knocked off the Temple Owls, 81-78,
in an Atlantic 10 conference battle at the Liacouras Center.
Eric Mosley and Demetrius Conger each added 15 points, Youssou Ndoye had 12
and Chris Johnson chipped in 10 to go with seven assists for St. Bonaventure
(7-10, 1-3 A-10) which ended a six-game losing streak.
Khalif Wyatt scored 31 points to pace Temple (12-5, 2-2) while Jake O'Brien
added 16, T.J. Dileo put in 11 and Scootie Randall tacked on 10. The Owls had
won 16 straight against St. Bonaventure before the loss.
At the end of the first half the Bonnies led 40-36. St. Bonaventure shot 46.7
percent in the first half, including a 6-of-10 showing from beyond the arc.
Temple kept pace by hitting 46.4 percent of its shots while knocking down
7-of-17 from 3-point range.
In the second half the Bonnies heated up to 52 percent shooting while rattling
in 5-of-8 from long range to hold off a late charge from the host Owls.
The win was the first in 31 attempts at Temple for St. Bonaventure.
