Greensboro, NC -- As of Saturday night, we're not out of the woods yet with the ice.  There could be some black ice for your Sunday morning commute.

But, it seems the prep work on the roads this week did exactly what it was supposed to.

Greensboro crews put brine down Thursday night.  Between Friday afternoon and Friday night, 40 trucks put out some 850 tons of salt.

"Drivers still need to be careful. Even though they don't see anything on the road. Anything on the shoulder of the road that may have melted during the day will leech back across the road and can re-freeze tonight," said Darren Case, Greensboro Street Maintenance Supervisor.

They'll have eight crews out Sunday night, in case they get calls about roads re-freezing roads.

If you see black ice, you can call Greensboro communications at (336) 373-2222.

The city will order about 2,500 tons of salt this week. That should start coming in Friday.

If you're keeping track, in the last two weather events, the city of Greensboro has used close to 3,000 tons of salt.
