Guilford County, NC -- Greensboro police have found the driver who crashed head-on into a median on U.S. 29 and then fled the scene.
It happened near Textile Drive just before 1 a.m. Sunday.
Police say icy road conditions don't appear to be a factor in the accident.
An officer on the scene told WFMY News 2, Dexter Deck crashed into a nearby building and while fleeing that scene, hit the median on US 29.
When police responded to the second crash, they found Deck's black Ford Explorer on top of the concrete barrier but there was no one in the vehicle.
A tow truck removed the vehicle to reveal significant damage to the highway barrier.
Police later found the driver on Carrieland Drive, not too far from the crash site.
An officer told WFMY News 2 that witnesses described seeing Deck asleep at the wheel before the crash.
Deck has been charged with hit and run and Driving While Impaired.
