Greensboro, NC -- From 5- to 12-years-old, Hampton Elementary students released an early look at college planning.

Nearly 260 students are expected attended the college on Friday afternoon. This was the leadership academy's first on-site college fair.

Principal David Jarmon told WFMY News 2, he wanted his students to know they can go to college. Jarmon said, he believes this college fair will provide students the encouragement and the knowledge to go to further their education after high school.

Several schools talked to students about qualifying for college and various careers that can be studied at each of their schools.

Participating schools include North Carolina A&T State University, GTCC, Greensboro College, Virginia College, University of Michigan and Bennett College.

The college fair ran from 12:30 pm - 2:30 pm on Friday.

The school plans to partner with colleges and universities to conduct a student tour in the next coming months.
