Greensboro, NC-- Some customers and politicians in Greensboro are not ready to accept the idea of another post office closing in the city.
There is one in particular that is set to close in May that has moved them into action to try and stop it from going dark.
Friday, several heading up the mission went to the US Postal Service's district office in Greensboro and handed them a petition with a thousand signatures. Their demands: keep the post office in Four Seasons Town Centre open and extend its hours.
A NC State Representative has also joined the fight to keep the post office open. The city of Greensboro showed its support in January with a resolution.
The US Postal Service has said for years, the business it once dominated is struggling and they've taken measures to turn things around. Those measures include, closing post offices, layoffs and increasing price of stamp.
Tuesday, they announced that all Saturday delivery would stop in August.
