Greensboro, NC -- Waste Industries USA, Inc. is teaming up with a local college to change the way we get rid of our waste.
Waste Industries announced a partnership with Guilford College this week to start a new food waste reduction program. It's called Food Waste Digester. The FWD machine uses microbes to break down from 300 to 2400 pounds of waste into liquid form within 24 hours.
The food then gets disposed into a floor drain and is sent to a wastewater treatment facility.
Waste Industries says the FWD makes disposing of waste easier, safer and more environmentally friendly.
