Greensboro, NC -- Local Rascal Flatts fans got a nice surprise at Friday's concert when the Wake Forest University marching band played on stage.
The Spirit of the Old Gold and Black performed "Life is a Highway" with the Grammy Award-winning artists at the Greensboro Coliseum.
About 50 students performed at the concert. The band typically played the song during halftime of home football games.
Band Director Kevin Bowen said Rascal Flatts gave his students a well-deserved, lifelong memory.
"The Spirit of the Old Gold and Black is grateful to Rascal Flatts for such an incredible experience, which is something we will reminisce about for years to come," said Bowen. "Many of our students have dedicated almost their entire lives to the art of performance, but few of them could have imagined that one day they would be on stage with some of music's biggest stars. It was fun and it was an honor."
