Davidson County Teenager Katlin Combs Killed In Head-On Crash By DWI Driver

Welcome, NC -- Three people are in the hospital with injuries from a head-on collision Sunday evening in Davidson County. One of those injured was the driver, who is facing DWI charges.

According to Trooper Varney with highway patrol, a driver was traveling along Bethesda Welcome Road near Hinkle road when another car pulled in front of them. The two cars collided head-on, killing a 14-year-old girl.

Trooper Varney said 22-year-old Phillip Eisenman was turning onto Bethesda Welcome from Hinkle Rd. when  he pulled out in front of the car containing the teenager and two other people.

The 14-year-old was pronounced dead at the hospital. The other two people were taken Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center with serious injuries. Eisenman is also at Baptist with serious injuries.

The teenager has been identified as Katlin Dawn Combs.

Trooper NS. Varney said no one in either car was wearing a seatbelt.

Eisenman was charged with Driving While Impaired and is facing other traffic violations, the trooper said.
