Greensboro, NC -- The City of Greensboro has announced the sale of four pieces of city-owned land for the construction of an urban loop around the city.
David Parrish, assistant city manager, says the city has approved a resolution to sell the four properties to the N.C. Department of Transportation.
The first property at 3501 Drawbridge Pkwy, which is larger than 12 acres, will be the new location of one of the loop's bridges. The city sold this property for $178,000.
For more than $417,000 NCDOT also purchased the land at 3521 Drawbridge Pkwy. to build a bridge; this property has more than 20 acres.
Another property at 2870 Horse Pen Creek Rd. sold for more than $467,000.
Finally, NCDOT purchased the property at 3747 Battleground Ave. for $4,250.
These sales were revisited after the Greensboro City Council postponed its decision on the transactions in its Feb. 5 meeting.
