A cold front and area of low pressure will approach and slowly move through the Piedmont Friday through Midday Saturday. As precipitation develops after midnight tonight, it will begin as a mix of snow, sleet, and freezing rain and then change to a cold rain before noon on Friday.
A Winter Weather Advisory may be issued for a part of the Piedmont overnight and Friday. A light accumulation of snow and sleet is possible by sunrise Friday morning. A glaze or light coating of ice is possible. The winter mix will change over to a cold rain before noon.
Rain is expected for Friday afternoon through at least midday on Saturday. As the rain tapers off late Saturday, the sky will clear for Saturday night. Sunday will be a mostly sunny day.
