Raleigh, NC -- A North Carolina-based a manufacturer of gelatin capsules says it is expanding its Guilford County facility.

Gov. Pat McCrory's office announced Friday that Qualicaps Inc. plans to create 123 jobs and invest more than $26 million over the next three years in Whitsett.

The project was made possible in part by a performance-based grant from the One North Carolina Fund of up to $235,000.

The Greensboro Partnership said there are currently 160 employees in its Guilford County facilities. Salaries for the new jobs vary by job function, but will average $37,785.

Quotes from Greensboro Officials about the news:

Jim Phillips, Chair of the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance's Operating Group commented, "This is more great news for Greensboro, and the Triad. Qualicaps Inc.'s decision to expand their investment in Guilford County is another indication that companies not only want to be in Greensboro, but are thriving in Greensboro."

"The decision by Qualicaps to expand their manufacturing operations here validates our industry cluster strategy. Qualicaps represents two of our five clusters; life science and innovative manufacturing. By expanding in Guilford County they are able to benefit from our skilled workforce and leverage comprehensive training programs through GTCC," says Dan Lynch, President of the Greensboro Economic Development Alliance. Lynch also notes that, "the Guilford County Board of Commissioners and the State of North Carolina also sent a strong message of support by providing economic development incentive grants of $272,805 and $235,000 respectively."
