Eden, NC-- Eden police are investigating a car wreck that injured five people Thursday night.

One of the injured includes the driver who police said caused the accident, and they believe she may have been drinking.

The accident happened around 6:54pm in the 100 block of East Aiken Road. Emergency workers were dispatched to an accident involving multiple injuries.

The investigation of the accident revealed that Rhonda Wood was speeding while driving west on East Aiken Road, when she crossed the center line and collided with a car in the east bound lane.

Two adults and two children who were in that car were taken to Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem.  Rhonda Wood was also transported to the same facility for treatment.

The investigating officer on the scene said he suspects alcohol was a contributing factor on the part of Rhonda Wood.

Wood has not been charged, but investigators said charges are pending in the case.
