Raleigh, NC-- Weather in North Carolina on Tuesday could be described as some of everything.

Forecasters said icy conditions were experienced in the western and northern part of the state.

The National Weather Service issued winter storm warnings, ice storm warnings, winter weather advisories and freezing rain advisories for parts of the state Tuesday morning.

Schools opened late in parts of western North Carolina.
Forecasters say the coastal plain may have severe weather as well. In the eastern part of the state, forecasters say rainfall could reach an inch and a half, raising the possibility of flooding in small creeks and streams.

Light snow was reported in Jefferson, Lexington, Lincolnton, Morganton and North Wilkesboro. Freezing rain was reported in Greensboro, Hickory and Winston-Salem.
