Asheboro, NC -- Police in Asheboro said they won't file any charges against the suspect in a stabbing death that happened February 22.

On that date, officers from the Asheboro Police Department responded to an assault call at an apartment on Old Liberty Rd. and found Ezra Olen Scofield III dead at the apartment.

They said he had been stabbed by a woman who was also at the apartment.

After a thorough investigation detectives consulted with the Randolph County District Attorney who decided to not file charges.

Thursday, police said Linda Marie Anderson Silwood acted in self-defense for her life and will not be charged for the death of Ezra Olen Scofield III.
