Greensboro, NC -- Police found a body in Lake Townsend Sunday afternoon.
Police were called to the lake off Plainfield Road after fishermen reported finding a floating body.
Dive teams from Greensboro Police and Fire Departments searched the waters looking for any clues that may tell them what happened.
They didn't remove the body until about 5:30 p.m., nearly three hours after finding it. Police say that's because they were trying to gather as much evidence from and surrounding the body before they removed it.
The body was taken to a morgue but will soon be brought to the State Medical Examiner in Raleigh for an autopsy.
At this point, police have not been able to determine the race or sex of the body.
