Lexington, NC-- A teenager is facing multiple traffic violation charges in Davidson County. Although he's under the legal drinking age in North Carolina, he's also charged with Driving While Impaired.
Deputies said that Saturday March 2, they stopped a car at Old Highway 52 and Welcome Arcadia Rd. During the stop, the driver 19 year-old Jacob Michael McClure was arrested and charged with Driving While Impaired, Speeding, Careless and Reckless Driving, Resist Obstruct Delay, Driving after Consuming Alcohol under 21, Open Container of Alcohol, and Failure to notify DMV of Address change.
McClure received a $5,000 dollar secured bond and was held for contempt of court in the Davidson County Jail. Mcclure appealed the contempt decision with a District Court Judge and the 5 day contempt order was changed to a $1,000.00 secured bond. McClure had a total of $6,000.00 with both bonds.
