Wilkes County, NC -- The Wilkes County Sheriff's Office arrested the man who allegedly murdered a mother and her child.
Deputies discovered the bodies of Kelly Marie Pruitt, 33, and Kevin Michael Hurley, 8, in their home on Statesville Road early Friday morning.
Warrants were issued for 33-year-old Jason Ryan Pardue, who lived in the same home as the victims. He's charged with two counts of Murder, two counts of 1st Degree Sex Offense with a Minor under 13 and 1 count of Incest.
Deputies and police officers searched for Pardue Friday. Wilkes County Sheriff's Office said North Wilkesboro Police arrested Pardue in a parking lot around 1:45 pm.
Investigators first received reports that the two victims were missing Thursday. A search warrant for the home was obtained Friday. According to the report, the two victims were last seen on March 8, 2013.
Investigators say Pruitt was stabbed multiple times and they believe the child was suffocated. But they won't be able to know for sure until they receive the autopsy reports.
