Triad -- Sometimes we have cold fronts that move through and you hardly notice a difference. The one coming closer to the Piedmont right now will not be one of those.
We currently have a cold front positioned to our north, over Virginia. The air mass currently in place across the Carolinas brought highs in the 70s to locations all across the Southeast. Meanwhile, the air mass behind the front produced highs in the 30s and 40s to our north.
The front will sink to the south tonight. We could see a shower as a result. However the rain chance stands at only 20%. It remains mild overnight. Lows only fall to around 50 by morning. Don't be fooled though. The high will be reached early on. We should hit the upper 50s by mid day. It will get cooler in the afternoon and we will likely be in the low 50s by dinner time. There is also a 30% chance of a shower- mainly in the afternoon.
Monday will be cool and wet. Highs will only top out in the mid 40s. There is a 60-percent chance of rain or drizzle to go along with the cool highs.
It all changes on Tuesday. There could be morning rain but then there will be quick clearing and warming. The afternoon will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 60s.
That warm up will also be short lived. Highs the rest of the week will settle down and stay in the low to mid 50s.
