Winston-Salem, NC - Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools has its next superintendent.
In a news conference Tuesday morning, the school district announced Dr. Beverly Emory was selected in a unanimous decision.
According to Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools, Emory has been the superintendent of Pitt County Schools since 2006.
She will begin July 1 after current superintendent Dr. Don Martin retires.
Emory's biography on Pitt County Schools' website says she is a North Carolina native from McDowell County. She began her career teaching math and science at West McDowell Junior High School.
