Bristol, UK (CBS) -- You could call him a miracle baby, George King who was born weighing 15 lbs. and 7 oz. at a hospital in the UK. That's twice the size of your average baby. But doctors struggled to deliver him. He went five minutes without oxygen and doctors gave him only a 10% chance of survival.
His parents Jade and Ryan King, knew he would be a big baby but only thought he would weigh 9 lbs. at birth. He's mother, Jade said the delivery room got really hectic while trying to give birth to George because of his size, "That's when they realized he was so big. And, his shoulders got stuck, which is when everything sort of kicked off. There were about 20 odd doctors in the room, and that's when it got really scary" she said.
They had to wait four and a half weeks before they could take him home. But now they have to pack up his unused baby clothes because he weighs so much. George is now wearing clothes for children 3-6 months old.
Doctors are still trying to figure out why he was such a big baby. Only one other baby born naturally in the UK was bigger than George, but only by an ounce.
