Burlington, NC-- Police in Burlington said alleged intentions to rob a store were foiled because of timing.
On Thursday around 11:30 p.m., officers were called to Tommy's Mini Mart on North Church St. for an attempted robbery.
The store clerk told investigators that three men came to the front door with their faces covered, one suspect held up a gun and the three tried to come inside.
But, it was a failed attempt as the clerk had already locked the door to close the business, for the evening.
Police said because the suspects were unable to get inside the mini mart they ran off.
