Alamance County, NC-- An Alamance County property owner made a gruesome discovery Friday morning while walking near a vacant home on Louis Graham Road.
The property owner saw what he thought was a mannequin but when he walked closer he discovered it was a man's body. The property owner called deputies who have ruled the man's death a homicide.
Randy Jones with the Alamance County Sheriff's Office said they can't release too many specifics about how the man died, but Jones said it is definitely a murder. He said there was significant trauma to the body.
The hardest part right now Jones said is identifying the man. He said there was no identification on the man's body.
Jones said the victim was a black male, they believe he was 20-30 years old, about 5'7" to 6 feet tall. He may have weighed 150-170 lbs. The man was wearing a red long sleeve shirt and blue jeans. Jones said the jeans were Evolution brand and had a red W on a back pocket. He was also wearing a western style leather belt with rhinestones.
There were no missing persons reports that match up with the victim, Jones said.
They don't know how long the body was in the field.
