Undated -- As many as 7,000 patients could have been exposed to HIV and hepatitis at a dentist in Oklahoma. Now, the head of Oklahoma's board says her office wants prosecutors to pursue criminal charges against the oral surgeon.
Dr. Steven Gollehon, an oral surgeon in the triad has a list of questions patients should ask before their next appointment at the dentist.
Patients can ask how tools are sterilized, what the infections protocol is and if there weekly tests to verify standards. He also recommends a tour of the office before the appointment.
"When you go there, just keep your eyes open. Look at a professional environment. Look for people who look clean, they look professional. They're not just going through the motions," he said.
