Raleigh, NC -- This week, Rep. John Hardister of Guilford County filed a bill that would allow venders to sell beer inside the stands at sports venues with more than 3,000 seats.

If passed, you could purchase beer right from your seat at a Greensboro Grasshoppers or Winston-Salem Dash game.

Right now, the only North Carolina venue allowed to sell alcohol within the seating area is Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte because it has more than 60,000 seats and it is in a city of more than 450,000 people.

However, if the bill passes, it would prevent these "mobile beer sellers" from shouting a sales pitch in the stands. Often times at Major League Baseball games, you hear phrases like, "Beer, Here!" Those kinds of verbal "advertisements" would be prohibited under this bill.

Donald Moore, General Manager of the Greensboro Grasshoppers, told WFMY News 2 he supports the bill because he thinks the option would be convenient for customers.
