ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, NC -- When we first met baby Jaxx Denny in December 2011, he captured our hearts and yours.
Jaxx was born without six ribs, without a kidney and with a severely curved spine. He was facing a lifetime of surgeries, just to help him grow.
And some 15 months later, it's great to see just how much he has grown.
WFMY caught up with Jaxx out at the ballpark Sunday afternoon in Bethany. He's had a busy day, that started at the Oak Hills Country Club, where people came out for the second day of the second annual golf tournament to raise money for the Denny family.
Proceeds from the tournament will help pay Jaxx's medical bills, and that's something Pete and Tammy Denny are more than thankful for.
"To be honest, it's kind of hard to talk to them. I want to give them words to express our gratitude, but I don't know of that word in the dictionary. They are absolutely making a difference just by playing a round of golf," said Pete Denny.
More than 150 golfers came out for this weekend's golf tournament.
Jaxx and family will head to Philadelphia in May, for another adjustment surgery. It's planned for May 7th.
