Winston-Salem, NC -- Police in Winston-Salem are investigating an accident that involved at least six passengers. During the crash, officers said two people were ejected from an overturned vehicle and four more passengers were seen running from the wreck.
Police responded to a report of the overturned vehicle shortly after 11 pm Monday in the 2600 block of South Main Street.
First responders took the two people who were ejected from the vehicle to Wake Forest University Baptist Medical Center to be treated for serious, non-life threatening injuries.
Witnesses told police they saw four other passengers run from the overturned vehicle. Investigators used a K9 officer to find them. Once located, three of them were taken to WFUBMC for minor injuries. Police said the fourth person was not injured.
Investigators said they believe alcohol and speed played roles in the accident. South Main Street was closed for about three and a half hours because of the wreck.
