Triad -- An upper level low pressure system brought cool and wet weather to the Midwest and Deep South all weekend. Now it is our turn.
The low is making progress- but it is very slow progress. The showers that moved into the Piedmont Sunday afternoon are only the beginning. It will be mid week before we get the system out of the region.
Tonight and Monday morning will be cloudy, cool and wet. There could be periods of heavy rain and gusty winds at times. The same will be true for Monday. The rain will be a factor most of the day. Winds could gust up to 25 mph. With a high limited to the upper 50s, it won't feel like the most pleasant day.
Tuesday will be much the same. The low will continue to slowly march across the Carolinas and bring more rain. Highs will be in the low 60s.
By Wednesday, we will be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. The rain should be more spotty and showery. There could even be an afternoon thunderstorm. Highs will be in the upper 60s.
Thursday and Friday may be the days you have been waiting for. That is when we will finally be able to dry out and highs will return to the mid to upper 70s.
