HIGH POINT - A High Point man will not face the death penalty despite being charged with punching and killing his own son.
Last year, police charged Stefany Ash and her boyfriend, Brian Frazier, with first-degree murder. Today the district attorney said neither of them will face the death penalty because there were no aggravating factors in the case.
The couple was arrested in late November in the death of their two-week old son, Khan.
High Point Police say Frazier admitted to grabbing baby Khan by the neck and punching him in the face. They say Ash ignored the baby's screaming and talking about covering up the crime.
Both Ash and Frazier remain in the High Point Jail.
