Whitsett - Joey Motsay is not just trying to break a record, he is trying to double it with a 50 mile car push, and in the process raise money and awareness for PeaceHaven farm, a farm that helps people with special needs.

Motsay begins his attempt Friday night at 7:00pm, and has 24 hours to break the current record of 26.2 miles.

You can watch and cheer on Joey in the P1 parking level of Signature Place at Friendly Center.

Motsay is encouraging people to donate to PeaceHaven farm as he makes his attempt. All of the proceeds will go towards furniture in a home will be built at Peacehaven to house people with special needs.

Peacehaven is a 89 acre sustainable farm located in Whitsett, and was founded by four parents who wanted to provide a place for people with special needs to work, learn and live.

The parents say they "have experienced the joys, the heartaches, the quest to to "fix", and the awe and wonderment of having someone they love with intellectual disabilities become all they were meant to be."

You can donate to Motsay's world record attempt here, and more information about Peacehaven is available here
