CLEVELAND -- A news conference was held for the three victims that were found after being held captive for the better part of a decade Sunday morning.
Jim Wooley, with Hennes Paynter Communications, spoke on behalf of Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus, Michelle Knight and their families.
Wooley expressed that Amanda, Gina and Michelle are extremely grateful for the support and assistance of their families, friends and community.
They showed gratitude to the numerous law enforcement officials that assisted in the arrest of Ariel Castro and the work each department has done to free them.
Amanda said, "Thank you so much for everything you're doing and continue to do. I'm so happy to be home with my family.'
Gina says, "I'm so happy to be home and want to thank everybody for all your prayers. I just want time now to be with my family."
Michelle added, "Thank you to everyone for your support and good wishes. I am healthy, happy and safe and will reach out to family, friends and supporters in good time."
Wooley addressed the numerous requests by media to do interviews with the three women, saying they are victims and witnesses of a crime and it would not be in good interest to make a statement at this point and time, and during the criminal proceedings.
Gina, Amanda and Michelle ask everyone to respect their privacy as they continue to heal and reunite with their families.
