Fayetteville, NC-- Authorities in Cumberland County are accusing a Fayetteville woman with injuring her young son on two separate occasions.
A statement from the sheriff's office Friday said 33-year old Teresa Marie Fowler is charged with Misdemeanor Child Abuse after detectives said her 8-year-old son was struck in the face with a video game controller in March. The boy suffered a small laceration and a black eye.
The statement said Fowler was convicted in 2009 of felony child abuse inflicting serious injury after hitting her then 4-year old child with a vacuum cleaner attachment. The child was left with a laceration on the top of his head, requiring staples.
Fowler was released from the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $2,000 unsecured bond. It's not known if she has an attorney.
