Greensboro, NC -- The sinkhole that had traffic delayed for hours the eastbound lanes of Wendover Avenue was fixed by Sunday night.
Greensboro police closed all eastbound lanes of the road at Cridland Road due to a sinkhole in the middle of the street just after 1:00 pm on Sunday.
Police dispatch says the hole was about 2.5 feet wide and long, and about 5 feet deep.
Workers opened the hole wider to find the source and later told WFMY News 2 there was a break in the sewage line.
They completed the job right around six pm, Sunday, averting a Monday morning crisis.
