Raleigh, NC - Over the past six weeks more than 400 people have been arrested during the NAACP's "Moral Monday" protests in Raleigh. Seven more volunteered to be arrested today during "Witness Wednesday."
NC General Assembly Police Chief Jeff Weaver told WFMY News 2 among those arrested was Guilford County Commissioner Carolyn Coleman.
Demonstrators marked the 50th anniversary of the assassination of Civil Rights activist Medgar Evers. It took more than 30 years to convict white supremacist, Byron De La Beckwith, with Evers' murder.
De La Beckwith died in prison in 2001.
