Triad, NC -- Thousands are without power after Thursday's storms swept through North Carolina.
There are still more than 61,000 outages reported across the state, according to Duke Energy. At one point during the storms, there were about 350,000 customers in NC who didn't have power. Additionally, trees were knocked down on homes and cars.

The storm killed two people in Wilkes County. A volunteer firefighter was electrocuted after he came in contact with fallen live power lines. A tree fell on a man when he was outside his home.
