A computer virus infecting one in every 17 e-mails is quickly spreading across the internet and causing major problems in computers, according to the Daily Mail.

The virus, 'Sobig.F,' has already spread to 134 countries through tens of millions of e-mails.

Sobig.F spreads when users open e-mail attachments with headlines, like "Thank you," "Re: Details" or "Re: Wicked Screensaver." The virus spreads quickly because it sends several copies of itself to every contact in your address book.

Sobig.F is slowing down the internet because it's increased electronic traffic online by 60 percent.

The attacks can cause major headaches, but tech experts say there are ways to prevent them.

- Be sure your anti-virus software is always up to date.

- Never open attachments unless you know exactly what they are.

- Delete any uninvited e-mails, especially those from unknown senders.

If you do catch the virus, experts say to go to internet security websites, like Symantec, FSecure, Sophos, Message Labs or McAfee for help.
