Lexington, NC -- After weeks of being threatened to shut down because of bed bugs, Crisis Ministries of Davidson County is getting the solution is deserves. Pest Management Systems in Greensboro is getting rid of the shelter's bed bugs at no cost Tuesday.

WFMY News 2 and the shelter reached out to several companies and the county board of commissioners to help the shelter's bed bug problem. The job was estimated at $8,000.
In addition to treating the bed bugs, Crisis Ministries received a discount for new beds and mattresses from a company in Indiana. Crisis Ministries told WFMY News 2 it bought the beds and mattresses worth $71,000 for $26,000.
The company will also take the old mattresses and beds and donate them to a recycling facility for Crisis Ministries.
