Pike County, AL -- A two-vehicle collision killed two people in Alabama Friday night--one was a Triad native.
Celeste Burgess, of Winston-Salem, died at a hospital following the accident on Alabama 93 just before 10 a.m. Friday.
State Troopers say a 2005 Chrysler Town & Country, driven by Tammy Johnson, 44, collided with a 2013 Nissan Altima, driven by Marcus Peoples, 27, of Warner Robins, GA.
The accident killed Johnson, as well as Burgess, who was a passenger in the Altima.
Peoples, along with three other passengers, was injured in the collision. The others include 19-year-old Joshua Townsend and 23-year-old Tyri Bradham of Banks, AL; and Leslie Peoples, 23, of Daleville, AL.
The Alabama State Highway Patrol is still investigating the accident.
