ELON, N.C. -- A Florida couple will have its name placed on a new building at Elon University. The building is designed to enhance the school's admissions and campus experience for prospective students and their families.
The 32,000-square-foot Inman Admissions Welcome Center will consolidate all campus visit, admissions and financial planning staff from three buildings on campus.
William J. "Bill" and Patricia "Pat" Inman of Naples, Fla., have made the lead gift toward construction of the building, which will also anchor a new quadrangle directly north of Belk Library that creates more green space on Elon's main campus. Their daughter, Jacklyn, graduated from Elon in 2000.
The school wouldn't disclose the exact amount of the gift.
Previous gifts from the Inmans have gone to Rhodes Stadium, the Koury Business Center and the Phoenix Club.
