Greensboro, N.C. -- The Carolina Sciquarium opens Saturday, but WFMY News 2 got a sneak peek inside the new section of the Greensboro Science Center.

Visitors will be able to explore the undersea world and check out all the creatures at North Carolina's first inland aquarium.

It's a 23,000 square foot aquarium where visitors can talk with keepers and educators.

You'll find unique animals and endangered species at the Carolina Sciquarium. Some featured animals include African penguins, otters and fishing cats. There's also a 100,000 gallon shark reef with three shark species and hundreds of fish. Another tank is called a "touch tank," where you can feel stingrays.

The grand opening is Saturday, but a member's only preview is on Thursday, June 27th from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.  These same hours apply once the Sciquarium opens to the public on June 29th.

Once it opens, the Carolina Sciquarium will be one of the few organizations in the country offering an accredited aquarium, zoo and science center all in one location.
