Greensboro, N.C. -- I never thought in a million years that today would be the day I would step on the scale in front of thousands of viewers, but I did because I have let my weight hold me back for way too long.
I wanted to step on the scale in front of WFMY News 2 viewers to take control back over my life. I never thought I would ever have a problem with my weight and that my number of 125 lbs. would balloon to 244 lbs.
I've taken the first step this morning by getting on the scale but now the real work begins. I wanted to do this not just for myself, but also to help so many other people who feel like they've lost themselves in their weight. I feel like I've been robbed from a life I should've been living all along and that's what hurts the most. I've had failed attempts before, but I am determined to change that this time.
I have worked at WFMY News 2 behind the scenes since 2005 and I deeply care for our community and our viewers. We share stories of people's lives every day and now I'm sharing my story with you in hopes you too will join me on my journey as you begin yours.
You'll see me weekly on the Good Morning Show as part of "Weigh 2 Go."I will be sharing every step of the journey from the frustrations, temptations, the ups and downs, to the triumphs, and break-through moments. So, get ready for some wild video confessions and of course the bloopers as I try to get to my weight loss goal of 100 lbs! I'll be doing Weight Watchers along with incorporating low-carb dieting.
