Triad -- Saturday brought a nice break. The high at PTI airport was 85- about 2 degrees below average. The humidity was a tad lower than the past few days. Most importantly, with only a few exceptions, many of us enjoyed a dry afternoon.
Don't get too used to that. Today will prove to be the exception rather than the rule.
The unsettled pattern gave us the afternoon off but it will kick right back in on Sunday. The chance of afternoon showers and t-storms goes back up to 80% tomorrow. Highs will again be in the mid 80s.
The week ahead will also be unsettled. Each day will bring a 50-60% chance of storms. The biggest concern will be heavy rains- on top of the already wet ground. One bright spot will be the temperatures. We will be slightly cooler. Highs will be in the low to mid 80s most days.
The spotlight is on Thursday- the 4th of July. As of now, it looks like there will be a 50% chance of thunderstorms, with highs in the low 80s.
