A study from Technomic says Winston-Salem-based Krispy Kreme doughnuts are the most craveable food.
According to the study, 83 percent of consumers say cravings are the main reason they buy food outside of their home.
Overall, dessert chains topped the list of craveable restaurant chains; Coldestone Creamery and Aunti Anne's placed behind Krispy Kreme, respectively.
The study said craveability items on restaurant menus are important because it builds loyalty. Among 22,459 consumers 18-years-old and older, 75 percent said "it is important for locations to serve unique, craveable items they can't make at home."
