Brunswick County, NC -- A man wanted in Brunswick County for sex offenses with boys is in custody in the Stanly County jail.
The Brunswick County Sheriff's Office confirmed to the Wilmington Star News that 68-year-old Clyde Wesley Way is charged with 16 counts of First-Degree Sex Exploitation of a Minor involving boys. According the sheriff's office, the crimes were committed last month at the NC Baptist Assembly, which was held at Fort Caswell in Brunswick County.
In addition to those charges, investigators told the paper that Way is also charged with four counts of Employing or Permitting a Minor to Assist in an Offense Involving a Lewd Act, and four counts of Indecent Liberties with a Child.
A news release from the sheriff's office said the offenses involved four boys ages 10 to 13 and occurred from June 24 to June 29.
