A Lowes Foods spokesperson told WFMY News 2 that the company has thoughtfully made the decision to not carry the issue of Rolling Stone based on the company's priorities. The company said it feels like it made the decision that was in the best interest of its company and its customers.
Lowes Foods is among several stores who have decided not to carry this month's issue. CVS and Tedeschi Food Shops both chose not to, according to CBS-affiliate, WBZ. The Democrat and Chronicle reported Wegmans Food Markets Inc., Walgreen Co. and Rite Aid Corp. all dropped the magazine from their stores' stands.
Lowes Foods has stores in North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia.
